Teachers, students oppose varsity Ord

NAWABSHAH, Oct 17: The Teachers Association of the Quaid-i-Awam University of Science and Technology boycotted classes and wore black arm-bands on Thursday to protest against the University Model Ordinance.

Prof Jan Mohammad Keerio, president, Teachers Association, QUEST, told newsmen that the protest would continue till the withdrawal of the University Model Ordinance.

He demanded cancellation of the anti-education ordinance.

He said that the teachers would boycott classes every Monday and Thursday in protest.

JSSF: The Jeay Sindh Students Federation on Thurday observed a black day and boycotted classes at the Quaid-i-Awam University of Science and Technology to protest against the Model University Ordinance.

BOOKED: The Nawabshah police on Thursday registered a case of water theft against 12 people under section 61 and 62 of the Irrigation Act.

The Dargoha, Mohammad Yousuf Mari, registered two separate FIRs at the Daur police station.

The complainant said that he along with the executive engineer, Nusrat Division, Salahuddin Abbasi, and the SDO found water passages had been taken out from RD-231 and RD-187 of the Nusrat Canal.
