LAHORE, Oct 17: The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association on Wednesday urged the CBR chairman to announce exemption of warehouse surcharge on temporarily imported items used for manufacturing readymade garments.

In a statement its chairman Pervez Hanif said members of the organization had pointed out an anomaly in the relevant SRO, which did not contain the exemption of warehouse charges for the imported items as was mentioned in the previous SRO.

He said the exporters were facing hardships because of the warehouse surcharge on import of items like buckles, zippers, buttons, chemicals, washing preparations, pumice stone, fabric, thread, labels, non-woven inter-lining, hangers, rivet, belt and tag, etc.
