HYDERABAD, Oct 16: An official of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) on Wednesday warned consumers against hiring the services of unauthorized persons to work on Wapda installations.
The Hesco’s deputy director (Safety), Mohib Raza, said that the power authority reserved the right to take action against any consumer, who hired the services of private electricians to work on Wapda’s installations, under the Electricity Act 1910 and Section 48 of the Electricity Rules 1937.
He was talking to the line staff during his visit to various sub-divisions of Hesco here.
Only linemen and assistant linemen could work on Wapda installations, he said.
He said that precautionary measures were necessary to save precious human lives and to check accidents.
He said that the consumers would have to face action under Section 302 PPC in case any private person died while working on Wapda installations.
He appealed to the people not to hire the services of private persons to work on the Hesco installations.
PROF HONOURED: A senior professor and chairman of the Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering department, MUET, Professor Dr B.S. Choudhry, has been awarded the “National Cultural Award” for minorities in recognition of his achievements and services in the field of engineering.
The award was conferred upon him by S.K. Tressler, Minister for minorities, culture, sports, tourism and youth affairs.
