LAHORE, March 21: A female medical student of King Edward Medical University was tested positive for dengue virus on Monday.A source said a fourth-year MBBS student, Maryam, was brought to the Mayo Hospital Emergency ICU for further care after her blood samples were tested positive for dengue virus.

The sources said the people with similar complaints had started visiting the city’s health facilities whose blood samples were being sent tolaboratories.

A health department official said the heads of all the health institutions and hospitals had been given an alert call to make necessary arrangements to cope with the situation as dengue virus patients might increase in coming days. — Staff Reporter
