MANSEHRA, Oct 12: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Mansehra chapter, has rejected the results of NA-20, Mansehra-I, and PF-55, Mansehra-III.

MMA workers continued their protest for the second day and staged a sit-in at the city square on Saturday.

Hundreds of workers reached the district courts in processions and laid a siege to the office of the returning officer, Mohammad Yaqoob Khattak.

They chanted slogans against the officer and the Election Commission. They were demanding recounting of votes in NA-20 and PF-55.

However, the RO refused to start the recounting unless the MMA activists ended their protest and dispersed peacefully.

The activists ignored repeated calls of their leaders to disperse.

Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf of PML (Q) was declared elected unofficially on NA-20 and independent candidate  Shahzada Mohammad Gustasap Khan was declared elected on PF-55.

 Candidates for the seats, Maulana Syed Ghulam Nabbi Shah and Mufti Kifayatullah, respectively, have rejected the results.
