Haider outpunches Shahid Jan

KARACHI, Nov 12: Featherweight Olympian Haider Ali gave international Shahid Jan a boxing lesson with a 3-0 thrashing on the opening day of national ranking boxing tournament Monday.

In a tough light-flyweight fight, Sindh’s Dilawar Hussain emerged a 2-1 winner but not before a strong challenge from Balochistan’s Nadir Khan.

In the same category, Pakistan Army’s Syed Hassan outclassed and won against PAF’s Javed Iqbal on a referee stop the contest decision.

Karachi Port Trust (KPT)’s flyweight Abdullah Qambrani won the bout when he outclassed Balochistan’s Kaleemullah in the first round on a RSC decision.

Army’s flyweight Pervez Akhtar also won on a RSC decision against Navy’s A. Zahoor.

International featherweight Mohammad Ali of KESC, who has staged his comeback after years, notched-up an easy victory after referee stop the bout when Navy’s Bakht Hussain was injured in the first round.
