KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Kuwait condemned on Tuesday the attack on the US Marines on its soil, and said that it had rounded up several suspects for aiding the two Kuwaitis, who were killed in return fire.

The duo Anas Ahmad Ibrahim Al Kandari and Jassem Mubarrak Al Hajri, attacked US Marines in Failaka Island during the joint US- Kuwaiti military exercise killing one Marine and wounding another.

Kuwait Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al Salem Al Sabah told reporters that Amir Sheikh Jabar Al Ahmad Al Sabah has regretted the attack on US Marines and condemned it in strongest term.

He said Kuwait consider the attack on US Marines as attack against its “national interest.”

Shiekh Mohammad said several groups have been detained and investigations were underway against those who provided assistance to the perpetrators.

“The killers have been identified and security forces are conducting raids to round up others, who are thought to be involved”.

He said the joint US-Kuwaiti military exercise would continue without any interruption.
