Girl students continued their leading streak and secured the top three positions in the merit list of the successful candidates once again. In 2000 and 2001 annual examinations too girl students had clinched the top three positions.
In comparison to last year figures, an increase of 25 per cent was recorded in the number of candidates appearing in examinations this year. The increase was higher for girl students.
According to BSE statistics, in all 10,750 candidates, including 6,692 girls, were registered for the examinations, and 10,347 candidates, including 6499 girls, appeared in the examinations. None of the candidates could get A-1 grade, and only five, all of them girls, were placed in A grade.
The Board withheld the results of 427 candidates for want of registration or for correct and complete information. Results of 39 candidates would be announced when their cases for using unfair means were decided by the Board, added the notification.
Saima Ameen, daughter of Shaikh Ameenuddin, seat number 20697, clinched the first position in the consolidated merit list of male and female candidates by securing 809 out of 1,100 marks. Second and third positions went to Salma Asghar, daughter of Muhammad Asghar, seat no 21693, and Hafiza Hasiba, daughter of Muhammad Anwar, seat no 19161, respectively.
According to the controller of examinations, Prof Amjad Ali Syed, marks sheets will be sent to examinees at the addresses mentioned in the examination forms in due course of time. The Humanities (Private) results was the last of the second-year examinations conducted by the Board, added the controller, saying that HSC Part-I results would begin coming from Tuesday, Oct 8.
The gradewise breakdown of candidates are as follows:
Male: A-1 grade Nil, A grade-Nil, B grade 23, C grade 234, D grade 532, E grade 115 and Pass 3. Pass percentage was recorded at 23.57.
Female: A-1 grade Nil, A grade-5, B grade-162, C grade-925, D grade-1037, E grade-85 and Pass 1. Pass percentage was recorded at 34.08.
ADMISSIONS: The Board of Intermediate Education, has announced that admission to the certificate in teaching (CT) and primary teaching certificate (PTC) are open till Oct 19, while classes will begin from Oct 21.
The principals have been asked to observe the admission conditions.
