KARACHI: Rs77m to be spent on KPP projects

KARACHI, Oct 4: The District Development Coordination Committee has approved five projects costing Rs 77 million for laying pipelines for provision of water and sewerage at Hawkesbay under the Khushal Pakistan Programme.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the committee with DCO, Shafiq-ur-Rehman Paracha, in the chair.

These projects have been initiated for implementing the rehabilitation and resettlement programme of Lyari Expressway affectees in Hawkesbay and to ensure that all civic amenities are available to affectees at the alternative places provided to them.

The areas near these projects, such as various goths, 500 Quarters and journalists housing scheme, would also get benefit from these projects.

A sum of Rs 15.8857 million would be spent and projects are expected to be completed in four to six months.

For water supply, pipelines would be laid from Gulbai to Hawkesbay at a cost of Rs 40 million while Rs 21 million would be spent on laying of internal water pipelines.

The residential projects of Lyari Development Authority will also benefit from these schemes.

The DCO also said that arrangements be made in an effective manner and water should continue to be provided through tankers.—APP
