KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: A Kuwaiti constitutional court on Wednesday rejected a plea from a female lawyer for allowing her to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The court rejected Kawthar Al-Jouan’s plea on the grounds that the constitution does not allow women to contest for the parliament.

Kawthar had filed a complaint against the Ministry of Interior for not registering her name in the electoral roll.
