KARACHI, Sept 26: The Sunni Tehrik (ST) would strive for the establishment of a true model Islamic welfare state, and would promote national harmony and brotherhood among the people.
The ST would repeal or amend all those laws which were against the ideology of the country on the basis of which all Muslims are considered as one nation.
The election manifesto issued by the Tehrik here says that the ST would protect the “true Islamic faith” and rights and will fight against all those anti-Islamic forces who were “misleading” the people.
The manifesto also focuses on free education system for every citizen and for abolishing the dual education system in the country. The salient features of the manifesto are:
NATIONAL HARMONY: The ST declares that it will promote the ideology of Pakistan on the basis of Quran and Sunnah and work for the establishment of a Muslim society in all the provinces.
EDUCATION: The ST will strive for introduction of an education system ensuring free education to all. Educational committees will be set up at district and tehsil level to create a congenial atmosphere which would help promote the cause of education. It will also focus on computer education and research work and would establish teachers training institutions in the country.
HEALTH: It also emphasises on introducing health services nation-wide in small towns and villages to meet the peoples’ requirements. These objectives could be achieved only by framing a national health policy.
FOREIGN POLICY: The ST favours an independent and neutral foreign policy and diplomatic relations with all the countries, including the neighbouring countries.
DEFENCE: One of the main objectives of the ST is make the defence of the country stronger and make the country self- sufficient in defence requirements.
JUDICIARY: The ST believes in an independent judiciary and free press and abolition of feudal system. It stood for protecting the rights of minority, human rights, women rights provincial autonomy, elimination of unemployment, establishing industrial units and development of agriculture sector.
