WASHINGTON, Sept 26: Researchers said on Thursday they had identified a substance that allows a small number of people to naturally live with the AIDS virus for decades.
They hope they can use the compound, consisting of three proteins called alpha-defensins, to design better drugs to fight the HIV virus, which infects 40 million people worldwide.—Reuters
