KARACHI, Sept 25: Three ships carrying general cargo and chemicals are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, APL Cairo, Kota Teraju, to unload and load containers, Darya Dhayan and Felicity to unload DAP fertilizer and Johar to offload crude oil were berthed after the sailing of two.
Sailing on the other hand was modest as only two ships, PONL Singapore and Zhuang He departed, while Al-Maqwa, Banglar Mamata, APL Cairo, Plamer, BBC Denmark, Al-Ihssa and Johar are due to sail out on Thursday.
Berth occupancy rose to 67 and 68 per cent both at the oil piers and the dry wharves owing to steady handling of ships.
The total tonnage also rose to 97,645 tons comprising 19,884 tons of export cargo including 3,602 tons of wheat and 77,761 tons of import cargo, mainly oils and chemicals.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Beluga Superstia, D.S. Manatee, with general cargo and Nur al-Jubail, with 5,000 tons of chemicals.
