KARACHI, Nov 11: The oversee committee of the Karachi Building Control Authority, on Saturday, urged the KBCA to issue notice to the Pakistan Housing Authority for not getting its building plans of four housing projects in the city approved by the KBCA.

Members of the committee belonging to the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners, Pakistan Engineering Council and Shehri also insisted that the KBCA authorities should ask the PHA through a notice why it failed to obtain KBCA no-objection certificates for the sale and advertisement of its housing projects.

However, the KBCA Chief Controller of Buildings, Brig (retd) Zafar Ahmed Malik, told the meeting that since the housing projects belonged to the Federal government, he would take a decision in this regard in light of the government policy.

When members of the oversee committee criticized the KBCA authorities for closing down the committee’s secretariat which was housed in the KBCA building, the CCOB said that he will have no objection in re-opening the office if it was used by the committee members.

The meeting was chaired by Ardeshir Cowasjee and attended by PCATP Chairman, Syed Kalimuddin; PEC’s Nooruddin, NED University’s Dr Abdul Samad, Indus Valley School of Arts’ Salim Thariani, Shehri’s Dr Reza Gardezi, Roland D’ Souza, Barrister Qazi Faez Isa and the coordinator, Atiq Baig.
