LONDON, Sept 19: Australian Test captain Steve Waugh made his first significance contribution in his brief spell with Kent when he hit an unbeaten 136 against last year’s champions Yorkshire on the first day of the last round of English County Championship matches Wednesday.

Waugh’s fine innings not only helped Kent amassed 332 for six but also prepared the 37-year-old stalwart into get himself among the runs with the Test series against Pakistan just two weeks away.
