PESHAWAR, Sept 19: The NWFP government will soon establish four Model Darul Uloom in the province in line with the decision of the federal government, says a press release issued here on Thursday.
It said apart from the routine curriculum of the Madaris, arrangements would be made to teach the students modern subjects of the education system of the country. This would enable the graduates of such Madaris to have the options of adopting a profession in one of the subjects taught to them.
In this connection, a meeting was held here on Thursday with the NWFP Minister for Education, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, in the chair.
Religious Affairs Minister Qari Roohullah Madani, representatives of education, finance, revenue and Auqaf departments were also present in the meeting.
The meeting decided, after discussing the issue threadbare, that two Darul Uloom, one each in Swat and Chitral, would be handed over by the education department to the Auqaf department along with their staff, budgets and assets.—By Our Correspondent
