MIANWALI, Sept 12: Local District and Sessions Judge Rao Akbar Ali started on Wednesday proceedings in the Abbakhel ‘compromise deal’ and recorded statements of six legal heirs to the two deceased.
Reported in Dawn, the Supreme Court took suo motu notice of the deal, according to which, the accused party offered eight girls as ‘Vani’ and Rs8 million to the aggrieved party for the pardon of four convicts Sardar Khan, Muhammad Akram Khan, Muhammad Ashraf Khan and Asmatullah Khan.
The chief justice directed the Mianwali DSJ to inquire into the incident and submit report within three days. Meanwhile, the offer of giving girls to the aggrieved party was dropped and the remaining portion of deal was completed. Later, both the parties submitted before the judge compromise affidavits which were not accepted on the plea that the case was pending with the Supreme Court.
Thereafter, the parties appeared before the apex court which directed the Mianwali judge to consider the compromise deal between both the parties for granting a pardon to the convicts under qisas law.
On Wednesday, the DSJ recorded the statements of six legal heirs to deceased Noor Khan and Sadullah Khan. Those recorded statements are Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Imtiazullah Khan, sons of Sadullah Khan, Mst Zeenat, daughter of Sadullah, Mst Sardar Khatoon, widow of Sadullah and daughter of deceased Noor Khan, Mst Sahib Khatoon and Mst Alam Khatoon, daughters of Noor Khan.
The remaining legal heirs to the deceased will appear before the court on Sept 14 (Saturday).
Meanwhile, the DSJ directed the local tehsildar to submit a list of the deceased’s legal heirs. After the conclusion of statements, the convicts will be released from the Central Jail.
