PESHAWAR: Funds promised

PESHAWAR, Sept 12: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has said that resource constraint will not obstruct the provision of higher education facilities in the province and the government will continue its efforts to ensure availability of funds in the education sector.

He was presiding over a meeting at the Governor’s House on Wednesday that discussed financial matters of the Peshawar university.

The governor said that the establishment of new universities in the public and private sectors and an increase in the higher educational facilities was a proof of the government’s efforts being made for promotion of higher education. Referring to the opening of campuses of Engineering University at Mardan and Bannu, he said these steps were aimed providing the higher education facilities to all parts of the province.—Bureau
