ISLAMABAD, Aug 30: Pakistan Railways has suffered Rs4 billion worth of losses because of the damage caused by the floods to its infrastructure and loss of revenue from passenger and freight services in the wake of the disaster.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said that a number of sections were still lying closed.

The closed sections are Hyderabad-Rohri, Sibi-Quetta, Hyderabad-Kotri, Jacobabad-Kashmore, Kotri-Dadu, Habibkot-Larkana and Muzaffargarh-Multan.

According to a report prepared by the Ministry of Railways, the tracks in the network's Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Sukkur and Karachi divisions were badly damaged.
