HYDERABAD, Sept 4: District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has urged political parties to ensure a congenial atmosphere during the election.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of the candidates of various parties at Shahbaz Hall here on Wednesday.

He said everybody should follow the rules and observe code of conduct during the election campaign so that no unpleasant incident took place.

Rafiquzzaman said the parties would have to move the district Nazim for issuance of permit for holding public meetings.

In this regard, the district Nazim said, a cell, comprising officials of police, DCO and his office, had been established in his office which would evolve methodology to issue permission about election activities.

The district Nazim pointed out that 15 places in Hyderabad city had been notified where holding of election meetings was banned.

He said the parties would have to submit a list, mentioning venues of meetings, 15 days in advance.

Responding to the candidates’ questions, Rafiquzzaman said wall chalking, flags and banners on various government buildings would be removed.
