KARACHI: KU teacher honoured

KARACHI, Sept 4: A senior teacher at the University of Karachi, Prof S. M. Saifullah, has been awarded by two major scientific bodies in recognition of his outstanding research works.

The peer review committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology examined the research works of the KU professor of botany, Mr Saifullah, and recommended an annual grant of Rs60,000 for the year 2001-2002.

The Pakistan Academy of Sciences and the INFAQ Foundation have also jointly awarded a gold medal and cash prize of Rs15,000 to the professor for his research works.

The KU teacher has also been given the best university teacher certificate for the year 2001, said a press release.
