KARACHI, Sept 4: The women’s wing of the Pakistan People’s Party has urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take a suo motu action against the alleged partial approach of the Election Commission of Pakistan to reject nomination papers of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
The demand was raised during a protest rally taken out by the PPP women’s wing here on Wednesday, which marched from Regal Chowk to the Karachi Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Nafisa Raja, president of the women’s wing, said the conspiracy of the regime to oust Benazir from political arena would be foiled by the party workers who are committed to the cause of democracy in the country.
“Our struggle against tyranny and suppressive measures will continue and no power can deviate us from our just goals and objectives”.
General secretary, PPP Karachi division, Habib Junaidi, said if the regime did not change its negative attitude against the PPP, the masses would launch a campaign across the country for bringing back their popular leader.—PPI
