KARACHI, Sept 2: Decomposed bodies of three members of a family were found in an apartment in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Monday night.

According to reports, the bodies were found in Flat No. 57, Safari View Apartments Block-7, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, and are at least three days old.

According to the SHO of Gulshan-i-Iqbal, the victims — Yasir Kazmi, 20, Samiya Maher, 25, and Mrs Kazmi in her mid-60s — had acid burns on their faces and were strangled.

Police said Dr Asim who had apparently come to visit his mother-in-law unlocked the apartment smelling extreme stench on Monday night, and found the bodies of his mother-in-law and her daughter and son.

Police said Dr Asim had returned from US on Friday, he called his in-laws but received no reply.

On Monday evening, he visited them and found the door to their apartment unlocked.

He called 15 and consequently, Gulshan-i-Iqbal police was dispatched to the spot.

Till filing of this report, medicolegal opinion of the bodies could not be obtained, as the bodies were not shifted to JPMC. Police have taken into custody four neighbours of the victims for questioning.

Stabbed: A woman was stabbed to death by her neighbour in Gulberg on Monday morning.

Police said Shamsdin subjected his wife to domestic violence. As he came out of the house, Ameerunnisa, 50, from the neighbourhood asked him why he was beating his wife, Haseena.

Police said, instead of answering her, the suspect attacked Ameerunnisa, with a sharp-edged weapon and fled.

The victim who suffered a serious injury fell on the ground, and was rushed to Abbasi Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said that victim was a resident of New Karachi and was visiting her brother’s house in Gulberg.
