ISLAMABAD, Aug 29: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to spend Rs335 million for modernization of the existing fire brigade system in the federal capital, sources said on Thursday.
In this regard, the PC-I of the project has been submitted to the ministry of interior for the approval and tender will be floated after its approval, the sources added.
Under the new fire plan, two hi-tech vehicles and other necessary equipments will be purchased aimed at extinguishing and control fire in the multi-storey buildings. Three ladders vehicles will be purchased while eight modern fire extinguishers will be acquired. All these vehicles will be equipped with modern facilities, the sources added.
The new plan will increase fire extinguish facilities in the federal capital, the sources said.
The plan has been made on the directive of the interior ministry. It had directed the CDA to strengthen fire fighting system after the incident of fire at Shaheed-i-Millat Secretariat.
