KARACHI, Aug 29: The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) will organize a general trade delegation to Japan in the third week of September 2002, to create a greater understanding among Pakistani exporters about Japanese market.

According to the EPB official here on Thursday, Pakistan and Japan were celebrating the 50th anniversary of their trade and diplomatic relations during 2002, and this event would play a vital role in the promotion of bilateral trade.

He said that this visit would also help Japanese buyers know about the potential of Pakistani exporters.

About 11 leading exporters of different fields will be a part of the delegation which will stay in Japan from September 23 to 28.

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Manufactured Import Promotion Organization and Japan Textile Importers Association are coordinating for the visit.

JETRO will arrange meetings of this delegation with leading buying houses in Japan, chambers of commerce and industry, officials of trade ministry and JETRO’s high-ups.

EPB official pointed out that another big event will be the holding of single country exhibition of Pakistan products in Japan in February 2003.

He said that JETRO had promised to bring in at least 1,000 leading Japanese importers every day at the single country exhibition, which is scheduled from February 24 to 27.

This will be followed by participation of Pakistani delegation at leading food fair Foodex Japan scheduled from March 11 to 14, 2003.

Another Pakistani delegation will participate in the leading textile show JapanTex to be held from November 26 to 29, 2003.
