BEIJING, Aug 28: China has dismissed the reports alleging the supply of nuclear missile equipments or missile technology to Pakistan.
Such reports have no truth, said Liu Jieyi, Director General, Department of Arms Control, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a news conference here on Tuesday.
Replying to questions about the alleged supply of nuclear weapons to Pakistan, Iran and Iraq, he said China had never encouraged proliferation of nuclear regime.
About the new regulations tightening control over the export of missiles and missile-related items and technologies, he said these would be applied in letter and spirit across the board, irrespective of any specific country.
China’s policy to prevent the proliferation of missiles and other delivering systems was consistent and there was no change to this effect, he said. —APP
