TMA to auction main contracts today

RAWALPINDI, Aug 27: The Tehsil Municipal Administration is auctioning its main contracts today (Wednesday), it has been learnt.

The contracts include Immovable Property Tax, that was awarded at Rs2.6 million last year, and the tehsil administration officials hope that it will fetch Rs23 million this year. Other contracts include Slaughter House, Ganjmandi, auctioned at Rs5.2 million last year; advertisement tax, previously awarded at Rs7.2 million and likely to fetch Rs9 million this year; trade tax, previously awarded at Rs3 million and expected to fetch Rs4.5 million this time.

Similarly, the contract of General Bus Stand, Pirwadhai, auctioned at Rs8.6 million last year, is expected to fetch Rs9 million this time. The weekly Cattle Fair at Chani Alam Sher, which was previously awarded at Rs10 million, has been estimated to come down to Rs5 million. The decrease in the value is due to the change of venue of the cattle fair, a tehsil administration official said.
