LAHORE, Aug 27: Leaders of the JUP (Noorani) walked out of a meeting of the PML-N with the Muttahida Majlis-i-Aml on mutual electoral cooperation on Tuesday evening, saying the party of Mian Shahbaz Sharif was not in a mood to give any seat to the MMA.

Led by Qari Zawwar Bahadur, the JUP delegation comprised Syed Mahfooz Mashadi and Rashid Rizvi.

“Whatever we demanded they simply refused,” said Qari Zawwar while storming out of the meeting room. He said leaders of other MMA components also felt disappointed.

Others who participated in the talks were: JUI(F)’s Riaz Durrani, Sahibzada Amjad Khan and Rashid Ludhianvi, Tehrik-i-Islami’s Sibtain Kazmi, JUI(S)’s Makhdoom Manzoor Ahmed and Jamaat-i-Islami’s Azhar Iqbal Hasan and Mian Maqsood Ahmed.

Tuesday was the second round of talks between the two sides.

According to PML-N leader Zaeem Qadri, the two sides discussed cooperation in 10 districts of the Punjab. Both sides informed each other of their position in these areas.

The districts which came under discussion were Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Okara.
