PESHAWAR, Aug 26: Pakistan People’s Party vice-president and a former director-general of Intelligence Bureau, Masood Sharif Khan Khattak, has termed the constitutional amendments as PPP- specific as they would be used to bar its leaders from taking part in elections.

Talking to newsmen here at the Peshawar Press Club on Sunday, he referred to a new amendment aimed at barring all those who had been dismissed from service in the past from participating in the upcoming elections. He said that he would be affected from this amendment as he was dismissed from the service in 1995.

In 1994, he said, the army had revealed the Jinnah Pur Plan, a separatist plan by Altaf Hussain. He as IB chief aborted the plan for which the government conferred on him Hilal-i-Shujaat, but now the rulers were barring him from contesting elections for the NA-15, Karak constituency.
