WASHINGTON, Aug 22: The number of people filing new claims for US jobless benefits fell 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 389,000 last week, the government said on Thursday.

The decline for the week that ended August 17 was roughly in line with Wall Street economists’ expectations.—AFP
