HYDERABAD, Aug 21: The PPP workers of Hyderabad District including women on Wednesday staged a rally to protest the registration of false cases against the PPP chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, and the ban on her return to Pakistan.

They were led by the general secretary of the party, Haji Mohammed Amin Lakho.

The rally which started from the party office, district council building, marched through various roads including Fatima Jinnah Road, Haider Chowk, and Risala Road. It finally stopped in front of the press club.

Addressing the rally, Haji Mohammad Amin Lakho, Maula Bux Dahool, Abdul Aziz Halepoto, and Ms Farheen Mughal condemned the registration of “false cases against Benazir Bhutto”.

They claimed that Benazir Bhutto was the symbol of the federation and the undisputed leader of teeming millions.

They further claimed that Ms Benazir alone could extricate the country from crisis and change the destiny of the people.

They claimed that the sacrifices rendered by the Bhutto family in the cause of Pakistan and the service of the people “had no parallel in history”.

They claimed that without Ms Benazir the general elections would be a hoax and a farce.

They demanded that all cases against her should be withdrawn and she should be allowed to return to Pakistan to contest the election.

INDEPENDENCE DAY: The city Nazim, Hyderabad, Haji Moinuddin Shaikh, has said that he was determined to convert the city into a citadel of peace and brotherhood.

He said this while addressing an independence day function in union council No13 on Tuesday.

He expressed hope that in due course of time the city of Hyderabad would become a model in the field of education and development.
