QUETTA, Aug 20: Members of Petrol Pump Dealers Ittehad (PPDI), Balochistan, on Monday threatened to close down their business if the government does not ban the sale of Iranian petrol in the province.

Speaking at a press conference, PPDI Chairman Saifullah Khan Kakar said that about 200,000 litres of Iranian petrol were smuggled into Balochistan daily and transported to other parts of the country.

He said the smuggling was affecting the business of the dealers and they were unable to lift their quotas from the petroleum companies.

He asked the government to eliminate smuggling or reduce prices to the level of Iranian petroleum products.—Staff Correspondent
