HYDERABAD, Aug 20: The Market police here on Monday night registered a case against over six accused, including two Muttahida activists, for death of a girl during aerial firing in the valima ceremony of her uncle.

The case was lodged against the bridegroom, Aslam alias Alam Dada, Shakeel alias Gogi, Nazeer alias Nazeera, Ayub Pathan, Ayub, Azam and others under relevant sections of the Anti Terrorism Act and the PPC.

The girl, Fareeda, was present on the upper story of the house in Sarfaraz Colony here when some participants of the valima ceremony of her uncle, Aslam Dada, an activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, resorted to heavy aerial firing.

She sustained bullet injuries on her forehead and died in a hospital later.

The proceedings of the ceremony, which included a musical function, were telecast through cable network in the area.

Assistant sub-inspector Tariq of the Market police said that the police had recovered the video cassette, containing recording of the programme. The video contained scenes of the aerial firing.
