SOUTH WAZIRISTAN, Aug 18: The political administration of South Waziristan Agency seem helpless to halt illegal cutting of forests and timber smuggling from different parts of the agency to settled areas of the country.

Illegal transportation of timber is on the rise in the agency and despite a number of checkposts on main routes in the agency a huge quantity of timber was smuggled to other parts of the country every month in connivance with the concerned authorities.
