Pakistan junior team for Cairo

LAHORE, Aug 17: Pakistan will send its junior team to an International Hockey Championship to be held in Cairo, Egypt from Oct 11 to 18.

To finalise and prepare the team for the said competition, the Pakistan  Hockey Federation (PHF) has called forty-six  probables for  the training camp which will begin at the  Pakistan  Steel Sports Complex, Bin Qasim, Karachi from Sept 2.

The probables will report to the camp commandant Col.  (Retd.) Abdul Rauf on Sept 1.

The players are directed to bring with  them their playing uniform (colour and white) and the sports gear. They should  also bring  the original “B”  Form along with 12 passport   size photographs.

Probables:

Punjab: Sohail  Hashmi, Imran Khan, Muhammad Khalid,  Rashed Imran, Khurram Shahzad.

Sindh: Athar Hussain, Adnan Hameed, Shahzad Hanif,  Samiullah, Mudassar Abbas, Imran Khan, Shabbir A Khan, Rizwan  Khan,  Abbas Haider.

NWFP: Yasir Islam.

Army: Usman Akram, Khalid Ahmed, Muhammad Imran, Farhan Shukr, Anisur Rehman.

Police: Tariq Yamin.

Railways: Adeel Anwar, Farhan Asif, Abu Bakar, Sohail  Imran, Mahmood Ali, Nadeem Junior.

PTCL: Muhammad Iqbal, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Waheed Islam,  Muhammad Khaliq, Arif, Tariq Aziz, Akhtar Ali, Rana Naeem, Saboor.

NBP: Imtiaz Ahmed, Imran Warsi, Sumair Saleem, A  Asim  Khan, Javed Iqbal, Awais Moeed, Adnan, Zakir, Kashif Ikram.

Balochistan: Syed Amin.

NBP, POF in final

KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) Wah will clash in the final of All Pakistan Hazara Gold Cup hcokey tournament after winning their semifinals, according to a message received by NBP sports department Saturday.

NBP defeated PAF on penalty shoot out after their semis ended in a 2-2 draw in the regulation time. Muhammad Akram and Hayat Ahmed scored the goals for bankers.

In the other semifinal, POF caused a surprise when they defeated Pakistan Army 2-0, message added.—APP
