HYDERABAD, Nov 7: The people of Dadu, Shikarpur, and Larkana whose lands have been acquired by the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for laying gas pipelines have appealed to the president of Pakistan, Sindh governor, and managing director of the company to pay compensation without delay as they cannot afford to go to Karachi every now and then.
In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, they said that the shifting of the company’s office from Hyderabad to Karachi had created a host of problems for them.
They pointed out that the revenue department and all other offices of the government including the Sindh High Court, circuit bench, had been established in Hyderabad but the land acquisition office of the SSGC had been shifted to Karachi for unknown reasons.
They demanded that they should be paid compensation in Hyderabad itself as they were not in a position to visit Karachi every now and then.
