KARACHI, Aug 16: Reckless driving claimed three lives in the city on Friday.
An unidentified man died and six other were injured in a road accident in Gadap. Police said that the unknown victim, who was in his mid-40s, died and six passengers were injured when a passenger coach (BA-0108) overturned on Super Highway near Kathor. The victim died on the spot. His body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
Quoting the injured victims, police said that the coach driver was dozing when the bus plunged into a ditch and overturned.
The injured were admitted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
A truck cleaner died when his truck (BD-1151) overturned on National Highway in Bin Qasim area. The victim, identified as Ibrat Khan, aged 25, died on the spot.
His body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post- mortem.
A young man died in a road accident near Steel Town.
Police said that motorcyclist Adnan, aged 25, was knocked down by a speeding truck (LSA-6464) at Steel Mor. The victim, resident of Gulshan-i-Hadeed, died on the spot. His body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.
KILLED: A young man was found murdered on the premises of a private school in Orangi Town on Friday.
Police said that Mohammed Shakil alias Kashif, aged 18, had been missing since Aug 13 when he went out of his house in sector 11-E in Orangi Town.
His father, Abdul Salam, lodged an FIR at Orangi Town police station the next day.
On Friday the administration of a private school in sector 11-E informed police of a stench coming out from a locked room on the first floor of the school building. Police broke open the door and found a partially decomposed body lying there. The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the dead man was identified as Mohammed Shakil by his father.
Sources at the hospital said that the young man’s throat was slit by a sharp-edged weapon.
An unidentified elderly man was found dead in Gulzar-i-Hijri on late Thursday night.
Police said that the man, who was in his mid-60s, was found dead near a bus stand off Super Highway.
The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. The post-mortem report had been reserved till the receipt of histopathological and chemical report.
