KARACHI: Three cars, eight bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Aug 16: Eleven vehicles — three cars and eight motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, police said.

Two cars were hijacked. One was stolen.

Four motorcycles were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Friday to have recovered two cars and four motorcycles in the city.

ROBBERY: Three armed men robbed a motorcyclist of cash near Saeedabad on Friday.

Police said that three armed men robbed a motorcyclist, Aslam, of Rs98,000 on Hub River Road.

The victim lodged an FIR at Saeedabad police station.

DROWNED: A four-year-old boy died when he fell into an underground water tank in his house in Saeedabad on Friday.

Police said that Mohammed Nawab Ahmed fell into an underground water tank in his house in Ittehad Town, Saeedabad.

His body was sent to Civil Hospital. Autopsy was not carried out on the body following the family’s insistence.

ARRESTED: The excise police arrested a suspect who was carrying 24 bottles of liquor in his car in Clifton on late Thursday night.

Police said that the suspect, identified as Taqi Shah, was intercepted by the excise police. Twenty-four bottles of liquor were recovered from his car.

Police also conducted a raid on his residence in Defence Phase-2 and recovered 432 bottles of liquor.
