KARACHI, Aug 15: Six ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Kota Rukun, Al-Mirqab and Kota Salam to offload and load containers, Golden Gate and Stolt Alliance to unload crude oil and chemicals were berthed after the sailing of six.
The ship, which departed included APL Pusan, HSH Ubin, Maersk, Contellation, Octavia, Hyderabad and Fortune Hera, while Kota Rukun. MSC Lucy, Stolt Alliance and Lyra are due to sail out on Friday.
Owing to steady arrivals, berth occupancy was maintained on the higher side at 100 and 54 per cent both at the oil piers and the dry wharves respectively.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 62,573 tons comprising 30,785 tons of export cargo and 31,788 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Friday: Leyi, Highland, Chitral and Moniqe, with general cargo, Kota Tereju and MSC Rosa-M, with containers.
