GILGIT, Aug 12: Three persons, including the husband, have been arrested from Ghizer District allegedly for murdering a newly-married woman in Golodas, 75kms west of Gilgit.

The police sources said that initially the killing of Huran Bibi had been reported as a suicide by her husband Gulbaz who had lodged an FIR about her missing last week.

But the police arrested Gulbaz, Sherbaz and Rehmat Wali when the post-mortem report of the body showed that the three-month pregnant woman had died due to strangulation.

The sources said the accused had confessed the murder during interrogation. After strangling her, they had thrown the body into the Ghizer River and posed it as the suicide, the accused were quoted to have told the police.
