HYDERABAD, Aug 12: The president of Markazi Jamiat Ahl-i-Hadith, Ameer Abdullah Farooqui, announced on Monday that his party had made an alliance with the Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) for the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking at a news conference here at the residence of Maulana Fauzul Kabir, Farooqui said the decision to make election alliance with the SDA was taken on the larger interest of the country, particularly Sindh.

He praised the efforts of the SDA leadership and hoped their efforts would remove hatred among the people of Sindh and restore their confidence.

He also expressed the hope that a new, sincere and dedicated leadership would come forward from Sindh during the election.

Farooqui said the people of the province were fed up with those who had made false commitments during previous elections and hoped they would now choose a leadership that could resolve their problems.

He said his party would continue to support the policies of President Gen Pervez Musharraf, considering the facts the president desired for rapid economic development, uprooting of terrorism and introduction of Islamic laws in the country.—APP
