LAHORE, Aug 10: District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood has ordered thorough screening of the places selected for Independence Day celebrations for security purposes.

Presiding over a meeting attended by the district coordination officer, district Naib Nazim, SSP operations, SSP traffic, EDOs and SPs, Mian Amer said foolproof arrangements should be made for the security of the VIPs and artistes attending the functions.

Civil Defence volunteers should also be mobilized for security purposes.
