ISLAMABAD, Aug 8: Two bodies were found while a man was shot and injured by highwaymen.
Police said an unidentified body was found in a Nullah in Sector G-6/2. The police believed that the 30-plus man had been stabbed to death some three days ago.
Similarly, the mutilated body of a man, wrapped in a bed- sheet, was found floating in water in an uncovered manhole in Sector G-10/2. The body was spotted by some PTCL employees who were repairing telephone cables. The police shifted the body to hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Nadeem Anwar, a resident of Sector F-8/1, was shot and injured by highwaymen on his way from Sihala to Islamabad on Wednesday night.
Police said Nadeem was travelling with his family when their car’s tyre burst on Islamabad Highway. He was replacing the tyre when another car stopped near his car and its occupants forced him to give up cash. Mr Nadeem was shot in the neck when he tried to put up resistance.
The injured was shifted to hospital where his condition was said to be stable, police said.
TERRORIST’S BODY: The body of one of the three terrorists who allegedly blew themselves up in an AJK village using hand grenades, was shifted to Rawalpindi hospital after its identification by the staffers of Murree Christian School.
The body was shifted to the Rawalpindi District Headquarters Hospital at Fawara Chowk late on Wednesday night, DSP Rawalpindi Sardar Maqsood told Dawn.
The DSP said the body had been shifted because the man could have been involved in some other cases of terrorism, especially those in Karachi.
He said the people who talked with the terrorist before he blew himself up had noted that he was an Urdu-speaking person and therefore could have been involved in terrorism in Karachi.
He said the Karachi police would be invited for identification of the terrorist.
