HYDERABAD, Aug 8: The Qasimabad police on Wednesday, recovered a girl, Noor Bano, who was kidnapped on Jan 17, from Jeeyando Bhanopoto village near Nabisar, Mirpurkhas district.

Her mother, Huzooran Abro, had observed a token hunger strike for seven months against the inefficiency of the Hyderabad district police.

Giving details, the DPO, Hyderabad, A.D. Khwaja, said that after the kidnapping of Noor Bano, her brother, Ehsan Ali lodged an FIR against four persons, who were found innocent during the investigation and released.

He said that the mother of the kidnapped girl suddenly changed here statement and tried to implicate some elected representatives of the people against whom there was no evidence.

He, however, said that the police did not give up efforts and finally succeeded in the recovery of the kidnapped girl.

The DPO said that Noor Bano came out with a different story, saying that she was kidnapped from her house in Qasimabad by Arshad Munda, Nale Chango Shah and a woman, Rasheeda.

She said that she was kept in wrongful confinement in Jeeyando Bhanopoto village near Nabisar, Mirpurkhas district.

She said on Feb 5, she ran away, took shelter in the house of Mir Hasan Bhanopoto and married him of her free will, adding that she was pregnant.

The kidnapped girl was produced before newsmen in presence of her mother who met her for the first time after her recovery.

An emotional scene was witnessed when the mother and daughter embraced each other.

Noor Bano confirmed her earlier statement given to the police and reiterated that she had married Hasan of her free will.

The DPO said that she would be produced before the magistrate and police would make efforts for the arrest of her kidnappers.

Reports said that Noor Bano and Hasan married in the court of judicial magistrate, Samaro, where she gave her name as Rubina, daughter of Sarwar Rajput.
