MIRPURKHAS, Aug 7: Two Hesco officials of Mirpurkhas Division were arrested by a Hyderabad FIA team here on Wednesday.
Saeed Ahmed of Thamsabad, Mirpurkhas, had submitted a written complaint to the FIA accusing that Line Superintendent Abdul Sattar, line men Muhammad Ayub,Irshad Ahmed and Shakeel had demanded bribe from him on the pretext that his power meter was defected. And when he refused to pay the amount, they had disconnected his power supply and also took away his meter.
Hyderabad FIA inquired into his complaint, found the four officials responsible for it and arrested Line Superintendent Abdul Sattar and line man Muhammad Ayub while two of the accused remain at large.
POST LYING VACANT: Following the transfer of Dr Illahi Bux Soomro, the post of EDO (health) Mirpurkhas remains vacant as result of which doctors and paramedics were facing problems. Two weeks have been passed, but no EDO was appointed as yet.
Police accused: Kamran Khan, a motorcycle showroom owner, has accused the town investigation police of implicating him in a theft case when he refused to pay bribe.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday at the press club, he alleged that ASI Kheth Singh, investigation officer of a theft case, had indirectly demanded bribe from him and when he refused to fulfil his demand he had threatened to implicate him in the case.
A few weeks ago, seven persons — Raza Khan, Wali Khan, Atta, Abdul Wahab, Irfan, Adil Bajwa and Faisal Bajwa — had been nominated by a complainant in the FIR lodged at the town police station, he said.
Town police has already recovered the stolen item, a swing, but did not arrest the nominated accused.
Kamran Khan demanded of Sindh IGP to order an inquiry.
