MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 6: AJK Legislative Assembly here on Tuesday vehemently condemned the inhuman atrocities being committed by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir, and asked the world community to exert pressure on New Delhi to let Kashmiris exercize their right to self-determination.

The house said this through two resolutions of identical text, tabled by Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan of the sruling Muslim Conference and Gulzar Fatima of opposition People’s Party.

The resolutions drew the world attention towards escalation of tension along the Line of Control created by the Indian government and warned that if Indian leaders were not reined in, a devastating war between the two sides could not be ruled out.

The house made it clear that the term “cross-border terrorism” was being used by India only to mislead the outside world and to divert attention from the state-sponsored terrorism in held Kashmir.

It said there was no border between Azad Kashmir and occupied Kashmir, and thus there did not arise any question of cross-border terrorism.

LEGISLATION: Later, during the legislation business the house unanimously adopted five ordinances according to reports of the respective select committees.

The ordinances were:

The Development Authority Muzaffarabad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001; The Bagh Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001; The Mirpur Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001; The Kotli Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001; and The Pearl Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001.
