BISLEY (England), July 29: Pakistan shooters continued their dismal run when Kashif Riaz and Zahid Ali finished sixth in the men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol pairs final Monday.

The Pakistani pair accumulated 1099 points.

Mukesh Kumar and Bhanwar Lal Dhaka won the gold.

Their score of 1141 points was enough to beat South Africa’s Allan McDonald and Frederick Van Tonder’s score of 1131 into second spot with the Australian duo of Bruce Favell and Bruce Quick taking bronze with 1127 points.

The winning performance was India’s fifth gold medal of the Games and it was a result which broke Australia’s strangehold on the event which they had dominated since 1990.
