KHAIRPUR, July 29: Three members of a family including two women were killed in an armed attack by seven unidentified armed men in the Bharo Lashari village, Kot Diji Taluka, on late Sunday night.
The armed men barged into the house of a man, Kandero Mari, and opened fire on his family killing three people on the spot and injuring two others.
The dead were identified as Kandero’s wife, Nawabzadi (60), his daughter, Ameeran (35), and his son, Mumtaz (25).
Mr Kandero lodged an FIR with the Kot Diji police in which at least 13 people were nominated.
WOMAN KILLED: A man, Imdad Hussain Rajpar, axed his wife, Basheeran, 28, to death on the pretext of Karo-kari in Nango village on Saturday night.
The accused surrendered at the Hingorja police post after the murder.
In another incident some unknown armed persons killed Ali Murad Narijo, 35, in Narija village near Bharo on Saturday night over an old enmity.
Meanwhile, a man, Bux Ali, who was injured in a clash between two groups of Thebo community in Liyari village near Kot Diji about one week ago, died in the Nawabshah Hospital.
The relatives of the deceased, carrying the body, staged a protest demonstration and a sit-in in front of the DPO office, Khairpur, and demanded the arrest of the murderers.
Following the assurance of the police that the murderers would be arrested soon, they called off the protest.
