KARACHI: Two cars, 11 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, July 29: At least 13-vehicles — two cars and eleven motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in different parts of the city on Monday, police said.

Two cars were taken away at gunpoint. Four motorcycles were hijacked and seven were stolen.

Police claimed to have recovered two cars and one motorcycle on Monday.

ROBBERIES: A shopkeeper, Abdul Rasheed, was deprived of cash (amount unspecified) at his shop in Lea Market by four unknown armed men on Monday.

In Mehmoodabad, Mohammad Amjad lodged complaint with the police that unknown armed men looted his cash (amount unspecified) and rifle and also hijacked his Suzuki pick-up.

In Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Hashim lodged an FIR that three armed men took away cash (amount unspecified) and pistol from his shop on Monday.

PRISONER DIES: A prisoner admitted to the Civil Hospital died on Monday. Hospital sources said 19-year-old Abdul Samad was admitted to the medical ward of the hospital on Sunday. He was shifted there from the Central Prison in a precarious condition.

The postmortem was conducted at the hospital on Monday, police said, adding that the report was reserved till the receipt of the histopathology and chemical reports.

BODY RECOVERED: The body of a young man, who had drowned in the sea on Sunday, was fished out from the Gadani Beach on Monday.

Edhi sources said Asif Iqbal, aged 21, had gone to the Gadani Beach along with his friends where he drowned.
