WASHINGTON, July 25: For only the second time since the Civil War, the US House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to expel Democratic Congressman James Traficant of Ohio, who is awaiting sentencing for corruption.

The 420-1 vote to remove Traficant from the seat ended his nine-term career in the US Congress.
